CLEARLAKE, Calif. — October 31, 2026. Clearlake residents will have an opportunity next week to learn how public grant funding is being used for a senior center project and to submit questions about its progress.
The City of Clearlake has announced a public hearing Thursday, November 5, at 3 p.m. at City Hall, 14050 Olympic Drive, Clearlake. The subject is the status of the city’s Program Income Only Senior Center Project, which the city says is supported by Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding administered through the state housing and community development program.
What residents can ask
The city’s notice identifies several types of information available for public review: progress to date and the expected completion timetable; results achieved and projected beneficiaries; and expenditures, remaining funds and budget expectations. The announcement does not include a new completion date or a final total cost, so neither should be assumed before the hearing.
How to comment before the hearing
Written comments may be directed to the City of Clearlake at 14050 Olympic Drive, Clearlake, CA 95422, or residents may contact project representative Philip Sales at (707) 994-8201, extension 122, or psales@clearlake.ca.us.
For inclusion in the official hearing record, the city asks that comments be received no later than noon Wednesday, November 4. Project records are available at City Hall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, or by contacting the project representative. The city asks people requiring accessibility accommodations to make contact at least three days before the hearing.
Public hearings offer residents a way to monitor use of public resources and ask about how programs will serve older adults, but the notice alone does not establish a new senior center operator, approved budget change or completed construction.
